Santa Teresa di Gallura
It has been founded at the beginning of 19th century, according to the king Vittorio Emanuele of Savoia. It represents one of the most ancients prehistorical installations ever known. It can be noticed from the jaggy reefs shaped from the wind and the thick Mediterranean bushes. There are several nuragic archaeological sites dated back to 4000 b.C., very close to the centre.
Santa Teresa di Gallura, just facing the Corsican Bocche di Bonifacio, can feature some among the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, in addition to several beautiful creeks. The Rena Bianca (white sand) is the town beach. Very long, with pure sand and cristal turquoise water. Capo Testa, a jaggy promontory, is only a few kilometres far, direction north-west, going through the isthmus of the beach Baia Santa Reparata.
Capo Testa is famous all over the world for its Moon Valley, memorable site of a hippy meeting in 1968. Another enchanting beach, the Marmorata, direction East, with its beautiful colours, act as a prelude to the close Erica Valley, a natural miracle. Look at the map
